"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9

Wally Hayward Half Marathon

This is probably my most enjoyable race to date. The weather was perfect, and the reverse Wally Hayward route made for an ideal course. There were more downhills than uphills, which I truly appreciated. The only disappointment was missing the cutoff to continue and finish the marathon. The cutoff at the halfway mark was 2

Pick ‘n Pay Half Marathon

I don’t think I can begin to explain how I felt standing at the start line of the Pick n Pay Half Marathon. I had entered the full marathon but downgraded to the half, as I was exhausted just two weeks after running the Johnson Crane Marathon. I had almost sworn off running

The Wonderful Run 21.1km

I really pushed hard on this race to beat my half marathon PB.  I nearly didn't make it, at 18km I was feeling a little dizzy and emotional. My running buddy, she just encouraged me to push through and to get to the time I wanted. On the steep uphill on 10km she pushed

24th Tom Jenkins 21.1km

All I can say is what a hill.  I had a terrible start to the race, I couldn't get to the bathroom and when I finally found one on the start there was a que.  I had to wait till after the gun went off.  And then my watch bombed out and 900m into

Kolonnade Retail Park 21.1km

This is one of my favourite races that I ran in 2017. Besides the one hill that is close to the 10km mark and then the finish line I thoroughly enjoyed running this race. My training buddy joined me on this run. She is such an encouragement on my Comrades Journey. I hit all

Chamberlain Capital Classic 21.1km

Running the Chamberlain Capital Classic 21.1km  was a lot of fun even though I had only been training for 3 weeks since I started training again. I must say the race was a hard race a lot of uphills that I had to walk up.  My training buddy ran the race with me and it was

West Coast AC 21.1km

I began the race a little late, about 5 minutes behind, as I had to collect my race number. Taking part in the 21.1km West Coast half marathon felt significantly easier compared to the Cape Town Marathon. I had been training a little more frequently, becoming stronger and better prepared for the distance.
