This is probably my most enjoyable race to date. The weather was perfect, and the reverse Wally Hayward route made for an ideal course. There were more downhills than uphills, which I truly appreciated. The only disappointment was missing the cutoff to continue and finish the marathon. The cutoff at the halfway mark was 2 hours and 40 minutes, while my fastest 21.1 km time is 2 hours and 46 minutes. However, I did manage a 2-hour 44-minute half marathon, which gave me a new personal best. The atmosphere at this race was fantastic, and I cannot wait for next year when I will be running the marathon. It will be my last long run of 2019 before the big day. I am dreaming big for one year from now.
