Such a cold morning today, but what a lovely run! I got my kids to run the 5 km with my mum, which was fantastic. I loved that the race started at 7 am and was close to home, allowing me to snooze a bit longer. One of the great things about this race was that it was at The Grove Mall, so we didn’t have to use a portaloo.

I had a really good run, with a perfect balance of uphills and downhills. I started the race intending to achieve my personal best in a half marathon, and I was thrilled to accomplish this with a time of 2:39:59. I got a bit concerned at the 18 km mark when I started feeling pain in my right foot, but I adjusted my running style for a few metres and the pain went away.

However, there were no bins for the water sachets, and there was one fewer water point compared to other 21.1 km races. Despite this, I would definitely do this race again. I also set a personal best for 15 km during this race.

I achieved a personal best in the half marathon with a time of 2:39:59. Additionally, I set a new personal record for the 15 km distance during this race.
