As 2025 comes to an end, I do so with deep gratitude for God’s faithfulness. This year marked the closing of an important chapter for our family with the sale of our home, and with it came a sense of release and peace. God has been kind in how He has led us through change, and I step into 2026 with a clear sense that this next season is meant to be walked slowly, intentionally, and in obedience.
Over the past few months, I have been reading through the book of Jeremiah. It is a confronting book, one that consistently calls God’s people back to faithfulness, not through ritual or appearance, but through obedience of heart. One verse in particular has shaped how I view the year ahead:
“But I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in obedience to all I command you, that it may go well with you.”
Jeremiah 7:23
This verse captures the heart of covenant. Obedience is not presented as a condition for God’s love, but as the response of a people who belong to Him. God’s desire has always been relationship first, obedience flowing from trust. The promise attached is not ease, but alignment, a life ordered under God’s authority, where He leads and sustains.
Much of the work God has done has been internal and quiet. He has been rebuilding foundations, healing areas that were long neglected, and strengthening my faith in ways that could not have happened without earlier seasons of refinement. Restoration does not always announce itself. Often, it becomes visible through peace replacing anxiety, and renewed strength replacing exhaustion.
At the core of this season is a renewed commitment to know God and to make Him known. Obedience is one of the primary ways our lives bear witness to our faith. When we live submitted to God’s leading, our choices, priorities, and responses reflect who He is. Faith becomes visible not through words alone, but through how we live.
As I close 2025, I do so with thankfulness for what God has restored and for the lessons He has taught along the way. As I step into 2026, I do so trusting that a life lived in obedience will continue to produce fruit, not for my own recognition, but for God’s glory.
My prayer for the year ahead is simple: to remain faithful, attentive, and obedient, and to allow God to lead this next season according to His purpose and timing.
